The new Nubia Red Magic 5S comes with GPU Boost, a new color scheme, UFS3.1 storage and ICE Ag, a super-conduction metallic silver technology. The Nubia Red Magic 5S screen is identical to the Red Magic 5G display. The AMOLED screen sports an insane 144Hz refresh rate covered with Corning Gorilla Glass. The display comes with 6.9ms per frame, 1080x2340 pixels resolution, 240Hz screen touch sampling rate, touch choreographer algorithm, automatic brightness adjustment up to 4096 levels and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification. The gaming phone is fueled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 high-end chipset with up to 2.84GHz burst frequency and an integrated 5G modem (X55). Additionally, the phone packs an Adreno 650 GPU and up to 16GB DDR5 RAM for high-speed performance.
On the rear, the Nubia Red Magic 5S is equipped with the same three cameras as its predecessor. The Red Magic 5S packs a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 main sensor, including dual tone LED flash and PDAF focus. The Sony lens comes paired with an 8-megapixel super-wide angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera sensor supporting a variety of photography of the Nubia NeoVision camera mode. On the front is a 12-megapixel selfie camera with fixed focus and 2.0µm pixel size. The rear camera can record videos up to 8K and has a super slow motion mode with 1920 fps.
The Red Magic 5S battery has a capacity of 4,500mAh and comes with 55W ice wind turbine fast charging support. The battery is charged to 66% in 20 minutes and fully charged in less than 40 minutes. The Red Magic 5S also supports Wi-Fi 6 and packs a pair of stereo speakers with DTS:X surround sound support for an amazing audio gaming experience. Additionally, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual band Wi-Fi, dual 5G and dual 4G LTE support. The Nubia Red Magic 5S gaming phone runs Nubia Red Magic OS, based on Android 10 OS.
