The Meizu Zero is the new flagship smartphone and it comes with a 3D ceramic unibody and no buttons, speakers, USB-C port and, no headphone jack. Meizu uses eSIM technology, so there is no SIM-card slot either. Charging and data transfers are all done wirelessly with Qi charging technology, Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi or data connection. The holeless handset is also IP68 rated and therefore waterproof.
The Meizu Zero sports a 5.99-inch Super AMOLED display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution. The display is also used as phone speaker, using Meizu's mSound 2.0 In-screen Sound Technology and it includes an under-display fingerprint reader. The Meizu Zero is powered by a high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core chipset with up to 2.8 GHz burst frequency. The Meizu Zero is available in two variants – 4+64GB and 6+128GB.
The top bezel of the Meizu Zero houses the front-facing camera with a 20-megapixel camera lens with f/1.8 aperture. On the back is a dual camera setup with a 12 MP + 20 MP camera. The cell phone can be unlocked with facial recognition.
As mentioned, charging is completely wireless. You can charge the Meizu Zero with speeds of up to 18W through its own “Super mCharge Wireless” technology. This surpasses the 7.5W Apple uses and the 9W speeds offered by Samsung. The Meizu Zero has no further ports, buttons, or holes, but Meizu is using a haptic feedback system to offer virtual buttons on the side to turn the phone on and off and to adjust the volume. And eSIM technology replaces the SIM card slot. Naturally, due to the fact that there are essentially no holes on the outside of the device, it also has an IP68 rating against water and dust. The Meizu Zero runs Flyme UI based on Android 9 Pie out of the box.
