The successor of the Nubia Z11 Mini S is here! The High Edition of the new Z17 mini impresses with a 13-megapixel dual camera, coupled with innovative camera functions for which Nubia smartphones are well known and appreciated. In comparison to the standard edition the High Edition sports 6 GB of RAM. Like its predecessor, the Z17 mini thrills with its unique look in the fashionable colors "Black Gold" and "Champaign Gold" and gives the mobile phone a luxurious appearance.
The Nubia Z17 mini is equipped with a 5.2 inch Full-HD In-Cell Display and has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This corresponds to a pixel density of 424ppi. The touch screen and the display are additionally protected from scratches by Corning Gorilla glass. The smart phone is powered by the high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 (MSM8976 Pro) processor with a maximum clock speed of 1.95GHz. Also on board are 6 GB of memory and the Adreno 510 GPU is used. The internal memory accounts for 64 GB which is quite generous for a middle class smartphone. As usual, the internal storage can be expanded by memory card.
On the back is the 13 Megapixel Dual-Cam, which consists of two Sony IMX 258 sensors, one a RGB and one a B/W sensor. It offers an f/2.2 aperture and supports both electronic and optical image stabilization. The new Neovision version 6 of the camera app offers, among other things, time lapse recordings and can create the bokeh effect based on the dual cam. On the front is a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide angle radius. In addition, the Z17 mini brings a whole host of new photo features called "Monochrome Camera", "Time Shuttle Camera", "Stereo Camera" and "Portrait Beauty Camera". The functions "Light Painting", "Star Trail", "DNG", "Slow Shutter" and "Macro Camera" have already been significantly improved due to the dual camera function.
The battery capacity of the Nubia Z17 mini is 2.950 mAh and promises a running time of two days thanks to "Nubia NeoPower 2.5 technology". The smartphone is charged via USB type C. In addition to Bluetooth 4.1, DTS sound, NFC, GPS and dual-band Wi-Fi, LTE is also on board. As operating system Android 6.0 Marshmallow is used, with the Nubia UI 4.0.
