Three years after releasing the Mi Pad 4, Xiaomi is back with its next tablet lineup, the Mi Pad 5 series. The devices bring some much needed variety to a segment that has been monopolized by Samsung and Apple for a while. The 11-inch Mi Pad 5 Pro is equipped with a Snapdragon 870 octa-core chipset and 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The Xiaomi tablet runs on the latest MIUI 12.5 version that is especially adapted for tablets, and is powered by a large battery with 8600mAh capacity supporting 67W fast charge technology, fastest ever in a tablet. The Android tablet is also extremely light with just above 510 grams.
The multimedia device sports a 11-inch LCD screen 2560x1600 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The 10-bit panel comes with support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and up to 500 nits brightness, as well as the TrueTone technology, for adapting the colors and brightness to ambient light. The Mi Pad 5 Pro is available with 6GB+128GB and 6GB+256GB in White or Black color and the 5G Version with 8+256GB that exchanges the Mi Pad Pro's 13 MP main camera for a 50 MP camera sensor.
The 11-inch 2.5K LCD Display offers stunning visual experiences with 120Hz, Dolby Vision and HDR10. The LCD screen has a WQXGA resolution with 2560 x 1600 pixels (274ppi). The 8 megapixel front facing camera is perfect for video calls with Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom etc. On the Multimedia side you can experience Cinema level sound, thanks to the eight speakers and full Dolby Atmos immersion.
The 8600mAh battery provides long battery life with fast 67W charging support. The interface remains MIUI but is now adapted for tablets and brings multi-screen support for over 300 apps. In addition, both the Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro come with stylus pen and magnetic keyboard support (not included). The stylus weighs 12.2 grams, has two buttons on its side and offers a touch sampling rate of 240Hz and 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and it supports tilt writing. It comes with a rechargeable battery that can last 8 hours on a single charge and can be charged wireless over the tablet. As far as the keyboard is concerned is made available in three different colors to transform your tablet into a laptop matching the paint job of the tablet. The Pogo Pin interface is magnetic, so it makes it easy to connect and remove from the tablet. It features a 1.2mm travel distance to ensure the right amount of bounce for your typing comfort.
