Honor and Huawei's first gaming laptop is here. The Hunter V700 offers a 144 Hz and 16.1-inch display, along with a choice of Intel 10th Comet Lake-H processors and NVIDIA GeForce GPUs. Honor has housed these powerful components in a comparatively thin chassis.
The Hunter V700 has a 16.1-inch display yet measures 369.7 x 253 x 19.99 mm, making its footprint more comparable to that of traditional laptops. The display also has 4.7 mm thick side bezels and covers 100% of the sRGB color space. The 1080p panel maxes out at 300 nits and has a contrast ratio of 1,000:1. The device is powered by an Intel i7-10750H hexa-core processor, or an i5-10300H quad-core chipset, with 16GB of 2933MHz DDR4 RAM and the Nvidia GeForce GTX️ 1660 Ti or RTX2060 graphics card and there are two NVMe M.2 slots, one of which comes preinstalled up to 1 TB.
Connectivity starts with Wi-Fi 6 but also includes 3.5mm audio, one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a Type-C port with DisplayPort, and a HDMI 2.0 output. Honor has also included a take on ASUS' ErgoLift hinge that it has called a Wind Valley design. According to Honor, the hinge reveals an air intake vent of 8.5 mm when opened, increasing the air intake volume of the V700 by up to 40%.
In line with the gaming theme, the keyboard is a 4-zone RGB back-lit implementation, and features 1.8mm key travel on the chiclet design. The WASD area has its own highlight. The Logo on the back of the notebook is also RGB, with control software provided. On the audio front, Honor has licensed Nahimic’s audio software toolkit, enabling 5.1 and 7.1 audio simulation as well as optimized EQ profiles for specific games.
In line with other Honor and Huawei laptops, inbuilt NFC allows users to connect up the laptop to their smartphone to enable features such as screen recording for PC games, live streaming for mobile games, file transfer, and call migration. The screen recording and live streaming sections are certainly interesting features.
