Huawei’s P-series is well known for its focus on capturing photos and videos. With the Huawei P40 Pro the Chinese phone manufacturer has once again revolutionized the experience of speed and power combined with the Ultra Vision Leica Quad Camera setup on the rear. The P40 Pro is powered by the Kirin 990 5G octa-core processor. All three variants with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage come with 8GB RAM. The Huawei P40 Pro packs a large battery with 4200mAh featuring 40W SuperCharge fast-charging and up to 27W Qi Wireless charging.
The overall design of the Huawei P40 Pro is inspired by the beauty of nature. The P40 Pro has a Quad-Curve Overflow Display with 90 Hz refresh rate. The Android phone comes with the Kirin 990 5G 7nm + EUV technology chipset to achieve high efficiency and maximum speed. The Mail-G76 MC16 GPU is responsible for outstanding graphics performance and unparalleled image processing powered by the upgraded ISP, and advanced AI capability in the dual core NPU. Its internal storage can be further expanded by up to 256GB with a Huawei NM memory card.
In terms of photography or videography it is hard to find a better smartphone. On the rear of the P40 Pro is a Leica Quad camera system. The 50 MP Ultra Vision camera takes in massive light and detail for amazing clarity, supporting Octa PD auto focus. There is a 12 MP telephoto camera with a 50x maximum zoom, 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom. The 40 MP Ultra Wide Cine camera sensor effortlessly takes ultra slow-motion or ultra low-light videos with multiple cinematic video camera features. Last but not least, the 3D Depth Sensing camera creates professional-level photos with bokeh effect. On the front is a punch-hole camera with an upgraded high-definition 32 MP main camera with auto-focus and a IR depth camera integrating intelligent optimization on lightning, skin color and texture details like never before. The AI motion algorithms detects and recognizes posture and expression of you and recommends 1-3 pictures of the best moving moments to you.
In combination with the innovative CPU architecture of the Kirin 990 and its high power efficiency, the AI allocation mechanism makes better use of the large 4,200mAh battery. The Huawei P40 Pro supports 40W SuperCharge via USB 3.1 GEN1 Type-C port. In addition, 27W Wireless Huawei charging, and the capability to charge another phones with reverse wireless charging is supported. The premium phone supports connectivity options including a wide range of WiFi networks, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, 5G and all global 4G, 3G and 2G frequencies. Furthermore, the P40 Pro comes with dual GPS/AGPS, Glonass, tri-band Beidou, dual Galileo and dual QZSS support for navigation and positioning. For those working at home, multi-screen collaboration to merge the phone interface into your Huawei or Honor laptop is supported too. The flagship Android phone is running EMUI 10 based on Android 10 OS. Please note, that even if English language (or another language) is available, some parts of the operating system might still be displayed in Chinese language. No launcher change possible.
