The latest Huawei Nova 9 handset is running on HarmonyOS 2 that is based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The Huawei Nova 9 is powered by the Snapdragon 778G SoC and 8GB of RAM. For taking photos and videos, the Huawei Nova 9 has a quad-camera setup with 50MP primary sensor on the back. The smartphone is backed by a 4300mAh battery with 66W Huawei SuperCharge support and the device is equipped with an OLED screen with 120 Hertz refresh rate.
The Nova 9 has a 6.57-inch full HD+ display with 2340 x 1080 pixel resolution (392ppi). The screen is a curved OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a P3 color gamut. The Nova 9 basic version has a centered punch hole for a single selfie camera and underneath, it is powered by a 64bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G octa-core chipset with a maximum clock speed of 2.42 GHz. The processor comes paired with an Adreno 642L GPU and 8GB of memory. The Huawei Nova 9 is available with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
For imaging duties, the Huawei Nova 9 sports a total of four camera sensors on the rear. The primary camera is a 50-megapixel RYYB sensor (f/1.9 aperture) that captures up to 40% more light than a regular smartphone camera. In addition, the phone comes with an 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth of field camera sensor for taking photos with Bokeh effect. The front and rear cameras both can record videos in 4K resolution with AIS anti-shake support. The selfie shooter of the Huawei Nova 9 is located in the center of its OLED screen. The 32-megapixel front camera is perfect for face-to-face calls, taking selfies, vlogs and to securely unlock the phone.
The Huawei Nova 9 offers a serious of connectivity options including dual 4G LTE, NFC, dual band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6, 2x2 MIMO, HE160, 4096 QAM, 8 Spatial-stream Sounding MU-MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.2, including SBC, AAC and LDAC. For navigation GPS (L1 + L5), AGPS, GLONASS, Beidou (B1I + B1C + B2a), Galileo (E1 + E5a), QZSS (L1 + L5), and NavIC are available. The China phone has a built-in battery with 4,300mAh capacity supporting charging speeds up to 66W. Huawei claims to be able to top up the battery to 100% in 38 minutes. The dual SIM Huawei Nova 9 4G runs HarmonyOS out of the box with OTA update support. Please note, that even if English language (or another language) is available, some parts of the operating system might still be displayed in Chinese language. No launcher change possible.
